Associate Principal

It is with great honor and pride that I return to the Rattlesnake Ridge Elementary family; this time as your new Associate Principal. 

I am a native Arizonan who enlisted in the United States Air Force after high school. I spent my tour stateside here in Tucson at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base working in both law enforcement and security. During this time, I went into schools through the D.A.R.E. program, educating young students the dangers of drug, alcohol, and gangs.  It was there that I realized my true love – educating children. 

My husband of 30 years and I chose Marana to raise our two daughters and build a small family business. Our girls attended Quail Run Elementary, Ironwood Elementary, Tortolita Middle School and Mountain View High School.   

I’ve had the privilege of spending the past 21 years teaching and loving students and families throughout MUSD.  I have taught 1st and 2nd grade and have been a reading specialist, literacy lead, and literacy coach. During this time, I have served and headed many leadership teams that supported teachers, students, student achievement, community involvement, and my own personal growth.  The amazing leaders on my campuses have allotted me countless opportunities that both prepared and inspired me to further my leadership journey.  

Although this will be my first year as an Associate Principal, I have 3 years of experience as Principal for summer school at both Picture Rocks and DeGrazia Elementary Schools. I am excited to be working alongside Mr. Uden, our staff, and our families in providing our students a quality education that will encourage them to be lifelong learners.
