Principal with student

It is my privilege to have the opportunity to lead a school with such a history of excellence created by our highly motivated students, incredibly dedicated staff, and supportive school community. I am committed to continuing this commitment to excellence and believe building strong relationships and a collaborative culture is the foundation needed to push us to keep growing and achieving.

I come to you from a family of educators, my parents each taught for 30+ years in my hometown of Parker, AZ, and my younger brother was just named Parker’s teacher of the year. I started my journey into education at the University of Arizona where I earned a BS in Cross-Categorical Education and a M.EdL in Educational Leadership. Before coming to Marana in 2016, I was a junior high special education teacher and a high school special education counselor. In 2016, I was fortunate enough to become the assistant principal at Rattlesnake Ridge and Coyote Trail with the past 3 years at Rattlesnake only. I also met my wife, Natalie, at the U of A where she studied nursing and is now a Nurse Practitioner at a local minute clinic. We have a son, Emmett, who cannot wait to become a Ranger in 2025. In our free time, you might catch us at a U of A football or baseball game, jogging around the neighborhood, or traveling for a Disney-related vacation.

Our mission at Rattlesnake Ridge Elementary, in union with parents and the community, will cultivate academic excellence and life-long skills to empower students to achieve educational and personal success. To me, this means we will collaborate with each other as a staff but also with you as community members to provide the best possible experience for every student no matter where their strengths are.

I look forward to continuing our partnership in this new role and serving the Rattlesnake Ridge community to the best of my ability. I appreciate your support and encourage all families to become involved in our school by joining our PTO, volunteering in the classroom or around campus, and providing academic support at home. I am excited about the upcoming school year and cannot wait for the next big chant of…

“Rangers Lead the Way, Ooh-Rah!”
